SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Rocky’s Ace Hardware, a family-owned business with neighborhood-based stores in seven states, is excited to spread some holiday cheer to animals in need this season with their eleventh annual Pet Shelter Drive. From Dec. 10 through Dec. 24, the change Round-Up supports local animal shelters.
With the holiday season rapidly approaching, it is easy to forget pets without homes. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), approximately 6.5 million household animals enter shelters every year. Of these, the Humane Society of the United States estimates that around 4 million are adopted—leaving many pets continually dependent on these compassionate shelters.
During the change round-up, customers are asked to round up their purchase total to the next dollar amount, with the difference in price being donated to a local animal shelter. The money collected can be used to provide shelters and the animals living within them with many essentials such as food, bedding, medical expenses and cleaning supplies. Every penny counts when it comes to helping a local shelter this holiday season.
