Store Your Holiday Decorations Safely
Holiday decorations are often cherished items, from fragile ornaments to sentimental keepsakes. Proper storage can keep them in pristine condition for years to come.
Here’s how:
1. Protect delicate ornaments. Wrap them individually in bubble wrap, newspaper or fabric.
2. Choose plastic over cardboard: Holiday décor tucked away in dark attic or basement spaces can be tempting to pests looking for food and nesting material. Look for sturdy plastic options with snap-on lids for added protection.
3. Wrap lights the right way: Avoid the dreaded tangled light strands by wrapping them around a light storage reel or a piece of cardboard. Store them in clear bins so you can easily see what’s inside.
4. Use wreath containers: Protect your wreaths from getting crushed or dusty by storing them in dedicated wreath containers. Many are designed to hang, saving you precious space.
5. Label everything: Use a label maker or permanent marker to identify what’s in each box. This will save you time and hassle next holiday season.
